Itineraries

Following are two of the itineraries you can expect at Ma Cachette.

Breakfast is served daily in the dining room. Oven fresh baguettes and warm croissants are served with homemade preserves, cereals, fruit juice, yogurt and coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Le Puy-en-Velay, Brioude, Ambert

Sunday

Afternoon arrival. Explore house, garden, town and immediate surroundings. Early evening welcome aperitifs and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner at Ma Cachette.

Monday

Visit the morning market. We will pick fresh produce to take home to prepare light salad lunch and dinner. Various salad dressings to be discussed. Short break after lunch. First menu session in the afternoon for the evening meal.

Tuesday

Early breakfast. Travel to le Puy-en-Velay. Visit La Distillerie du Velay and Lentilles museum. Lunch in Le Puy. Afternoon visit to Brioude and Chateau Lafayette. Return to Ma Cachette for relaxing late afternoon and light dinner.

Wednesday

Morning free to visit the Jardin pour la Terre or simply explore the beautiful surroundings. Lunch at Au Bon Coin, a typical French country restaurant frequented by truck drivers as well as the mayor of Arlanc! Second menu session in the afternoon.

Thursday

Early breakfast. Visit Ambert market, the largest of its kind in the area. Light lunch at 1513 - an ancient building turned into a créperie which serves a large selection of delicious crépes. Visit Museé du papier historique Richard de Bas, the oldest paper mill in Europe where paper is still made the same way as in 1353! You will have an opportunity to buy some of the finest quality paper. Return to Ma Cachette to prepare dinner.

Friday

Start late. Prepare lunch. Final menu session in the afternoon.

Saturday

Linger over breakfast and final farewells.

 

Thiers, Lezoux, Beurrieres & Ambert

 

Sunday

Afternoon arrival. Explore house, garden, town and immediate surroundings. Early evening welcome aperitifs and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner at Ma Cachette.

Monday

Visit the morning market. We will pick fresh produce to take home to prepare light salad lunch and dinner. Various salad dressings to be discussed. Short break after lunch. First menu session in the afternoon for the evening meal.

Tuesday

Early breakfast. Travel to Thiers to visit the cutlery museum and cutlery shops. Lunch in Thiers. Afternoon visit to Lezoux pottery and area Return to Ma Cachette for relaxing late afternoon and light dinner.

Wednesday

Morning visit to cheese maker & Miellerie (honey farm)  in Beurrieres. Light lunch at Ma Cachette. Second menu session in the afternoon.

Thursday

Visit Ambert morning market to buy fresh produce for evening meal. Lunch at Les Copains. Third menu session in afternoon.

Friday

Morning free to visit Le Jardin pour la Terre or see more of the beautiful area. Return to Ma Cachette for a light lunch. Final menu session in the afternoon.

Saturday

Linger over breakfast and final farewells.
